Diarrhea is defined as the condition of frequent loose or liquid bowel
movements. Diarrhea isn't necessarily always such a bad thing. After all, it's a
natural defense mechanism against something bad that might be in your
body. But some forms of diarrhea may be harmful.

Diarrhea is most commonly caused by viral infections, parasites or bacterial
toxins. Within sanitary living conditions consisting of ample food and a clean
water supply, one may only suffer from diarrhea for a few days. However,
individuals that are ill or malnourished may be at risk of severe dehydration,
which without treatment can be life-threatening.

Cure Diarrhea with a Lighter Diet- It can be very wise to limit your diet to
more liquid-like foods if you have diarrhea. You certainly don't want to overfill
your body with more food than it can currently handle.  A diet consisting of
soup and Jell-O will be much easier on the diarrhea state of your body.

Avoid Diarrhea Inducing Foods- Some foods such as cabbage and beans
can have a negative impact on the healing process.

Drink Plenty of Fluids- Along with liquid-like food, you should keep your body
well-hydrated, even more than usual, to aid the healing process.
